RESTORED – Outages – Saturday, October 12 – Sunday October 13, 2024

WECOutages

October 13 – 1:15 pm

WEC crews have finished restoring power to the few remaining members who were out of service! Thanks to all at WEC who worked on this outage, to the Stowe Electric line crew members who came to help and to our members for their patience and understanding. Only a few Vermonters remain out of service as other utilities also complete their restoration work.

Remember: Do not approach downed lines or trees on lines, as they may still be energized. If you see a tree on power lines or lines down, please report it to us: local 802-223-5245 or toll-free 1-800-932-5245.

October 13 – 7:45 am

Crews worked overnight restoring power to WEC members. As of this morning all but about 39 members have had their power restored. Crews continue to work on those remaining scattered outages and anticipate restoring power today. Green Mountain Power and Vermont Electric Cooperative are also close to full restoration in their territories. Stowe Electric sent help to WEC after working on their own system, which was a huge help.

October 12 – 7:20 pm

Roughly 200 members remain out of power as crews continue to work into the night. It is likely that some more remote and more difficult repairs will cause some outages to last overnight. We will post estimated restoration times on the WEC Outage Map as we can. About 1,000 Vermonters statewide are currently out of power.

Crews will continue to work into the evening with one crew working overnight while the others rest. They will return at 5:00am to work until all members are restored. We will post one more update later this evening but if you do not have power, please plan for being out overnight. Thank you for your patience.

October 12 – 10 am

WEC crews are working to restore power to nearly 2,000 members affected by higher than expected winds this morning. With about 26 separate causes of outages spread across WEC territory, we anticipate it will take a significant amount of time to restore power to all members, perhaps into tomorrow. We have requested assistance, but with GMP, VEC, Stowe and other Vermont utilities also experiencing outages it may be some time before that help is available. Statewide nearly 10,000 are out of power.
