WEC's 85th Annual Meeting

Gather with neighbors and friends at WEC's 85th Annual Meeting! The meeting will be held in person on May 2, 2024 at the Barre Auditorium (16 Auditorium Hill, Barre, VT 05641). The results of the Board of Directors election will be announced at the meeting, as well as published here on the website and emailed to members subscribed to the digital version of Co-op Currents. A full report will run in the June/July issue of Co-op Currents, both print and digital.

  • Director elections, Co-op business, Q&A with staff and Board members
  • Registration at 4:30 pm; Buffet opens at 5 pm
  • Dinner at no charge by reservation only
  • All are welcome, including kids!

Coventry Clean Energy Plant Open House

Saturday, September 16, 21 Landfill Lane, Newport, VT 05855

Join WEC and Casella Waste Systems for the annual Coventry Open House! Tour WEC’s generation plant and learn how landfill gas is captured to generate electricity.

  • Arrive anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16
  • Tour the energy generation facility where methane gas from waste is turned into electricity
  • Tour the landfill via shuttle bus
  • Chat with staff about the plant and WEC's energy portfolio
  • Enjoy refreshments (Cider doughnuts and cider from Burtt's Apple Orchard)
  • All are welcome, including kids!
